This weeks theme was centered composition. I wasn't feeling particularly inspired to pick up my camera this week, but I managed to at least grab this shot of my kiddo out at Woodard Bay. I promise this is not the only shirt he owns... he just seems to like this one. LOL.
Negative Space This week we are exploring negative space. In other words, any area of the photo that isn't the subject. I had always thought of negative space as more of a blank area of a photograph or painting. So ordinarily I wouldn't have considered this photograph as containing any negative space at all. It's been a bit of an eye opener and a challenge for me to try and create something with negative space that is more than just blank background. Not that there is anything wrong with blank background, but I wanted to push myself to try something a little different with the theme than I would usually think of. Next week is our tenth wedding anniversary. It's hard to believe a decade has gone by already. Although our story really stretches much longer than that, so I suppose that is why it feels as though 10 years has just flown by. We met when we were 11 years old, "dated" for a few months when we were 13 (as much as a 13 year old can really date), and then dated seriously our senior year of high school and through college. We finally got married after 5 1/2 years of dating. This week is photographer's choice! No rules to follow. I've been wanting to explore the graffiti filled alleys downtown for quite awhile, so I thought this would be the perfect excuse to finally get out and do it. I love the vibrant colors. My son is not the most cooperative of photography subjects, but he humored me for half an hour. The Coca-Cola bottle in the last picture was how I really envisioned this shoot going, but a spillage mishap meant we had to scrap that Idea about half-way through. I'll probably give the Coke idea another go at a later date. Remember to follow the blog circle around to see what some of my fellow CM photographers have come up with for this week. Check out Katie's blog next!
This weeks theme is "alternative light". Luckily I was able to get my son to cooperate long enough to get a few shots that I'm calling "Knowledge is power" Once again this post is part of the ClickinMoms project 52 blog circle.
