Meet Karen:
My name is Karen. I am a hobbyist photographer in the Olympia, WA area.
I am a wife to an incredibly talented hubby, and mother of 1 amazingly intelligent little boy.
When I don't have a camera in my hand, I'm working as a Registered Nurse. (Specifically with neonates)
I grew up in Las Vegas, NV. Though I miss family and friends, I feel most at home here in the Pacific Northwest.

My photography
As long as I can remember, I have loved photos. Taking them, looking at them, placing them in albums, etc. My interest really started to take off in high school. I took a beginning photography course and learned the basics of handling an SLR film camera, the exposure triangle, composition, and how to process film and make prints. From there, I purchased my first film SLR in college to take pictures of my boyfriend's band (now my husband). Concert photography has always been my happy place. Followed closely by nature and landscape. I received my first DSLR in 2005, and have been shooting mainly digital since.
I am a Nikon girl. My first film camera, and all the digitals I have bought since, have been Nikons. I currently shoot with a Nikon D600.
