April in Washington is Tulip season. The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is amazing and I truly believe everyone should make the trip to Mt. Vernon at least once. Unfortunately, living in the South Sound makes Mt. Vernon a heck of a drive. There is an alternative closer to home, luckily. The Degoede Bulb Farm in Mossyrock, WA is also home to an impressive field of tulips this time of year. In addition to the field is a beautiful show garden and nursery. Considering it is also less than half of the drive, I'm a huge fan.
When I saw the prompt for week 13 was "lines", I knew the Tulip fields would fit the bill perfectly. We've had a very mild winter and early spring, so the tulips have bloomed early. There are still quite a few unopened though, so the show will only get better in the next week or so.
