Living in Western Washington we have access to an amazing trail system. Even in urban areas there are trails with the natural temperate rainforest preserved. We also happen to homeschool our son, and the trail system makes a wonderful living laboratory for nature walks, and studying flora and fauna of our region. My family and I feel incredibly lucky to live in a place with so much natural beauty to explore.
These photos are from a small portion of the Chehalis Western Trail. The trail was formerly a railroad route used by the logging industry. It stretches over 20 miles through Thurston county.
