This week we were asked to think about what we would grab if we only had a few minutes to get out of our house. We were to assume that all living creatures were already safe, and just think about what possessions we would want to save. Honestly, this is a difficult assignment for me because the true answer is "Nothing". Sure there are things that I can't replace and would be sad to lose, but in the end stuff is just stuff. It did get me thinking about the boxes of old photo prints and negatives I have though. I'm now in the process of getting myself a scanner so I can digitally archive them as protection.
I struggled with finding a way to make a picture of stuff look interesting. It still doesn't. I chose a few stuffed animals and a box that contains some of our precious items. (Hand and foot prints of my son at 2 weeks old. A model train that Dan's grandfather built and detailed. Ashes and paw prints from one of our pups.)
